International Surfing Day (outreach) June 20, 2009, Time TBD
Join us on June 20th as we celebrate International Surfing Day!
This global celebration of the sport of surfing is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 20th, which is the longest day of the year for us folk in the northern hemisphere. SURFING Magazine will be working with the Surfrider Foundation to use the day to also help raise awareness of beach and coastal environmental issues.

SPRING BEACH CLEAN-UP AND ECO-DEPOT (clean-up) May 16, 2009, 9:00 am - 12:00 noon
Happy Spring! It's that time of year again to do a bit of Spring cleaning- Surfrider-style! Join us on Saturday May 16th for our annual Earth Day Beach Clean-up and Eco-Depot (which is technically past the official Earth Day this year but who's counting?)
COME ON OUT AND VOLUNTEER!
We also need beach cleanup captains to take ownership of certain beaches, breaks, and other coastal locations. When volunteers check in, we'll send them out to give you a hand. Let me know if I can put you down to be a captain.
Got a pick-up truck? If you are willing to provide your services and your vehicle to help transport the trash back to the town beach, please let us know.
Saturday, May 16, 2008 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM Rain or Shine Check-in at Narragansett Town Beach SOUTH Pavilion Parking lot Volunteers needed! Trash bags & gloves provided.
This year our favorite e-waste and hazardous waste program is back! ECO-DEPOT and Hazardous Waste Drop-Off (cell phones, computers, old paint, etc.) Saturday May 16th 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM (note: one hour earlier start than beach clean-up) Narragansett Town Beach NORTH Pavilion Parking Lot
And on the other side of the Bay in Newport, there will be a beach clean-up ONLY. 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM Rain or Shine Meet at Easton's (First) Beach Gloves and bags will be provided
Phew! That's a lot of info. Got it?? After all this running around making the coastline all nice and pretty, join us for a BBQ back at the Narragansett Town Beach SOUTH lot. Grills will be fired up at 12-noon.
